THE RESULTS
Fractional Laser Resurfacing treats a small “fraction” of the skin while leaving intact undamaged skin around each treated area. “Fractional” Laser Resurfacing is a technology which delivers results similar to that of deep chemical peels or ablative laser resurfacing.
*Results will vary from patient to patient.
**All photos are of patients from Cosmos Clinic, and all ‘after’ images are taken on average 6 weeks post treatment.
THE PROCEDURE
Fractional Laser Resurfacing targets specific sections of the skin while leaving surrounding areas intact. The technology is designed to treat scars such as keloid scars, hypertrophic scars, and acne scars. Individual experiences and results may vary, and a consultation is recommended to determine the best treatment approach.
The laser creates microscopic channels in the skin, targeting the deeper layers where collagen is formed. This stimulates the body’s natural healing process, leading to new collagen production over the next 3–6 months.
For the best results, Fractional Laser Resurfacing can be combined with:

Your initial scar treatment consultation and subsequent procedure(s) can be undertaken at one of our cosmetic clinics located in Sydney, Canberra, Adelaide, or the Gold Coast.
Locations available
Complications of Fractional Laser Resurfacing are rare when performed by an experienced health practitioner. Mild blistering, especially on the chin and temples may occur at higher powers and densities, which will typically heal normally. Scarring from the procedure is rare. Hyper-pigmentation may occur in darker skinned patients, or patients prone to discolouration. Such patients can be pre-treated with bleaching agents to minimise any tendency towards discolouration. Patients with a history of lip blistering are treated with antiviral medications just before, and for a week after treatment. Fractional lasers very rarely result in an outbreak of acne.
