THE RESULTS
Volume Enhancement Treatments are injections intended to help restore facial volume and may assist in enhancing contours. They may be used in an effort to address acne scars and hydrate the skin, potentially contributing to a more balanced facial appearance by augmenting the lips, nose and chin.
Volume Enhancement Treatments come in two varieties: semi-permanent or temporary. The latter consist of hyaluronic acid (HA), a naturally-occurring sugar molecule that we have in our bodies. Over time our own HA levels start to decline, causing the skin to look older and become dehydrated as we age. Fillers can plump the skin and contour facial structures by replacing lost volume with hyaluronic acid.
The biggest benefit of Volume Enhancement Treatments is their ability to rejuvenate the skin without surgery or downtime. Some patients may notice improvements in facial lifting and contouring after one visit or a series of sessions, although individual results can vary.
Another advantage of fillers is that they’re very customisable. In the last couple of years Volume Enhancement Treatment companies have launched highly sophisticated products with specific functions. Some products have a softer texture and are suitable for restoring volume under the eyes. Others are much denser and can be used for restructuring the cheeks, chin and jawline.
You are a good candidate if you have mild to moderate volume loss and skin sagging. Patients who are older and with considerable skin laxity can still achieve some improvement with Volume Enhancement Treatments; however, a surgical approach may be necessary to produce more dramatic and satisfactory results.
A quick outpatient procedure, Volume Enhancement Treatment injections can be performed in less than an hour. Depending on the area, your injector may apply a topical numbing agent to make the experience more comfortable. Furthermore, most hyaluronic acid fillers contain lidocaine, a local anesthetic that adds another level of comfort to the treatment.
There may be some redness, swelling and possible bruising post procedure but most patients can return to work immediately after. Areas such as lips can swell considerably for the first 48 hours and return to normal in a couple of days. Bruising can be covered up with makeup if necessary.
Results typically last 6-12 months and some can last up to 24 months. We recommend having maintenance treatment done every 10-12 months.
Hyaluronic acid Volume Enhancement Treatments work immediately to plump and contour the skin. They are a made with a soft gel that gets injected under the skin and improvements are visible right away. Over time your body breaks down the HA molecules and your skin return to normal.
Tissue stimulating injections, on the other hand, stimulate your skin to produce collagen. Over the course of several months the treatment can restore volume in your skin, smooth away wrinkles and improve your overall skin quality. Results typically last 18 months after which time more injections will be required.
Yes Volume Enhancement Treatments are extremely safe. Since they contain hyaluronic acid, a substance that we naturally have in our skin and bodies, the chances of having an allergic reaction are very minimal. Most people tolerate Volume Enhancement Treatment injections very well, even after many years of use.
Keep in mind that Volume Enhancement Treatment injections can results in temporary side-effects such as swelling, redness and bruising. These normally resolve after several hours or days. It is possible to develop some rare complications such as lumps (called granulomas) but this is very rare. If patients need to reverse filler, it can be instantly dissolved with hyaluronidase.
Our team, consisting of medical practitioners, doctors, and registered nurses, is dedicated to providing quality care in cosmetic treatments.
