IMPROVE TIRED HOLLOW LOOKING UNDER EYES
At Cosmos Aesthetics Sydney, we can help rejuvenate the under eyes to address hollows, reduce dark circles, and hydrate the area for a more youthful appearance. This cosmetic injectable treatment is performed with Volume Enhancement Treatments into an area on the face called the tear troughs.
Hyaluronic acid Volume Enhancement Treatment injections work by imitating a naturally occurring sugar molecule already found in the skin and body. When injected into the thin skin between the lower eyelid and the upper cheek, fillers can strengthen and plump the under eye skin, whilst treating volume loss, and improving your overall facial contour. Benefits from having fillers in the tear trough area can include:
Volume Enhancement Treatments are a cosmetic injectable treatment used to address volume loss, hollows, or dark circles in the tear troughs, which is the area under the eyes and above the cheekbones. Fillers used in the tear troughs are typically made of hyaluronic acid, a naturally occurring substance in the skin that can retain moisture and add volume. When injected into the tear trough area, Volume Enhancement Treatments can smooth out the under eye region, reduce the appearance of under eye bags, and rejuvenate the overall look, making the eyes appear more rested and youthful. It’s essential to choose an experienced injector for this delicate area to ensure natural-looking results and minimise potential risks.
Using Volume Enhancement Treatment injections in the hollow area under the eyes can revitalise the appearance of tired eyes and reverse unwanted signs of ageing. This popular aesthetic treatment may provide a number of cosmetic enhancements to the eye area, including:

WHAT DOES A TEAR TROUGH FILLER TREATMENT INVOLVE
If you have concerns with hollow areas, dark circles, a visible lack of volume, or fine lines beneath the eyes, then you are most likely a suitable candidate for under eye fillers. However, as with any non-surgical treatment using filler, there are some exceptions to this. Patients with very thin skin, deep tear troughs, excess loose skin, or fat bulging under the eyes, may not be suitable for a Volume Enhancement Treatment treatment. A good candidate for under eye fillers may include individuals experiencing the following:
The cost of your Volume Enhancement Treatment treatment will depend on various factors, including the amount of filler required, the thickness of the filler needed, and the type of filler used. At Cosmos Aesthetics Sydney, we recognise that every patient is different and will require a personalised treatment plan to address their concerns and reach their aesthetic goals using non-surgical treatments including fillers.

THINGS TO KNOW ABOUT TEAR TROUGH FILLER
When having a cosmetic injectable appointment at Cosmos Aesthetics Sydney NSW, your specialised injector will examine the under eye skin area to ensure you are a candidate for tear trough fillers. During the treatment the following steps generally occur:
After receiving under eye fillers, most patients experience minimal downtime, with bruising and swelling being common. Potential post-treatment experiences to be aware of can include:
Most Volume Enhancement Treatment patients tolerate the treatment well, even after years of repeated injections. However, just like any other medical procedure, there are some temporary side effects to be aware of, such as swelling and redness, which usually subside within a few hours to days. Bruising is common in the delicate area under the eye, and if bruising occurs this can last a week or so, depending on the patient,
Lumps of filler and skin infections are very rare, and in some even more rare cases, filler may disrupt a blood vessel beneath the skin. This can block blood flow and lead to complications such as skin death and, in severe cases, blindness. When treating the delicate area under the eyes and to reduce the risk of serious complications occurring, we always recommend that you only use an experienced cosmetic injector at Cosmos Aesthetics Sydney.
Once any downtime has settled following the first appointment, the tear troughs can be reassessed around two weeks after the initial treatment. If there is still some hollowness or visible tiredness present, additional filler can be added to top up the area during your follow up appointment.
If you don’t enjoy the changes produced from having filler in your under eye area, an enzyme called hyaluronidase can be injected to dissolve the filler, returning the area to its pre-treatment state. During your follow up appointment, you can discuss your options with your injector to determine the best course of action.
The duration of results from tear trough fillers can vary, with some patients experiencing effects lasting between 10 to 18 months. Individual results may differ, depending on the individual. Periodic touch up treatments can also help maintain and prolong the desired results in the under eye area.
You can absolutely combine tear trough fillers with other injectable treatments for overall facial rejuvenation. Additional cosmetic treatment options to add to your appointment and which can all be used in harmony with under eye filler, including Wrinkle Reduction Treatments, jawline filler, and cheek filler.
We perform under eye tear trough fillers at all Cosmos Aesthetics clinics around Australia, including at our three clinics located in Sydney NSW at: Double Bay, Manly, and Cronulla. Please contact our friendly team today to make an appointment!
