What happens during a large volume liposuction procedure?

Your doctor will make small incisions in each of the treated areas, and an ultrasound probe is used in the fatty tissue layer under the skin, to break up the targeted excess fat cells. How long does the procedure take?

As a general rule, you can expect a large volume liposuction procedure to take between one to four hours to complete, depending on multiple individual factors. What can I expect during recovery?

You should expect to spend around a week or more at home to rest and recover after surgery, this will depend on multiple individual factors and is not a guarantee. After a week or more, you should manage to return to most normal light activities, with the exception of strenuous exercise. Do I wear compression garments?

When will I see results?

You will also need to allow time for the skin to retract to your new body shape, however excess skin is common following large volume liposuction. You can expect your liposuction results to improve gradually in the three to six months following surgery.
