Vaser is a fat removal technique that lets you shape your body using ultrasound technology for results. You may be an appropriate candidate if:
Vaser Liposuction uses an ultrasound cannula that is inserted into the fatty tissue layer under the skin to liquefy the fat layer before suction. Small incisions are made in the treatment area where a numbing solution will be used to soak the fatty tissue for long-lasting pain relief. The ultrasound cannula is then inserted and shakes up the fat cells. Imagine a “brick of butter” being transformed into “molten butter” to be sucked out. The ultrasound energy also promotes a skin tightening effect due to the contraction and proliferation of collagen fibres.
This modern fat reduction technique can be used on almost any area of the body, including options such as:
There are always potential risks associated with surgery and cosmetic surgery is no different. Whilst every body is different, some of the side effects you may experience after Vaser Liposuction include:
Your Cosmos Aesthetics medical practitioner will go through all of the possible side effects with you in detail during your consultations so you are well-informed before making any decisions.
Traditionally, liposuction techniques were less refined and used higher suction pressures. Separating the excess fat before suctioning was much like trying to shatter a brick into pieces before its removal. This meant more trauma to the body, more pain for the patient and a longer recovery time post-operation. Vaser is a tumescent lipo but with the additional step of using ultrasound waves to liquify the fat cells. The breakdown of the fat makes it much easier to suction out of the body. The result is a more defined shape with up to 54% improved skin firmness to offset loose skin.
Cosmetic surgery is a big decision that needs to be right for you. First, you need to tick all of the boxes to ensure you are a suitable candidate for Vaser Liposuction and are in good health. You also need to be mentally prepared and ready for the invasive procedure as well as have realistic expectations as to what you can achieve for your body. A consultation with one of our highly trained health practitioners can help you decide. We’ll discuss your goals, the amount of fat to be removed, risks and other important details to help you make a confident decision.
Before and after photos can be helpful in giving you an idea of what results are possible with Vaser Liposuction. On the Cosmos Aesthetics website, you can find before and after photos of our past patients who have undergone this procedure through us with all after photos being taken 6 weeks after the surgery. While these photos are informative, it is important to note that every patient is different and results will vary. Our before and after photos do not reflect how your own experience will go and the results that you will be able to achieve.
During your consultation, a Cosmos Aesthetics doctor will discuss pre-operative instructions with you in detail. This can include quitting smoking at least 2 weeks prior to surgery as well as avoiding specific medications or supplements that can cause excessive bleeding during the procedure or your recovery period. You may also wish to prepare for your recovery in advance by purchasing comfortable clothing, pre-cooking healthy meals, filling prescriptions and arranging for a friend or family member to pick you up from the hospital and assist you in the first few days at home after the surgery has been completed. Contact us today for any further enquiries.
Vaser Liposuction typically involves the use of a local anaesthetic, with the possibility of twilight sedation or general anaesthetic, tailored to individual requirements. As with any type of surgery, pain thresholds vary from patient to patient. In the weeks that follow, you may experience discomfort with bruising as well as numbness as the treatment area heals. You may take painkillers prescribed by your doctor to alleviate this pain during recovery.
After the surgical procedure, you will be put into compression garments to help with swelling and skin retraction. You can expect fluid leakage from the treated area to occur for about 3-5 days following the surgery. You need to wear the compression garments full-time for 3 weeks, then part-time for 3 weeks. Discomfort and pain will vary depending on the number and location of areas treated. You can typically return to work 1 week after the procedure. Regular lymphatic massage sessions will be required for 2 weeks to assist in the healing process.
Vaser Liposuction is a newer technique compared with traditional liposuction. It is a more modern liposuction technique as it uses ultrasound technology to break down and liquefy solid fat so that it can be suctioned out with less difficulty and with less disruption to the surrounding tissues.
The ultrasound energy in Vaser Liposuction is intended to interact with the fat cells, and there may be an effect on the skin. Any skin tightening effect varies and should be discussed with a medical professional to understand its likelihood and extent.
The removal of fat cells in Vaser Liposuction is permanent for the treated cells; however, it’s important to maintain a healthy lifestyle as it does not prevent the potential for weight gain in untreated areas. You will need to maintain a healthy lifestyle after the cosmetic surgery as well as follow a healthy diet and regular exercise routine so that you do not regain fat deposits in the same or different area of the body.
Aside from this, all bodies naturally age and there is no way to permanently combat the visible signs of this. Factors such as gravity, inflammation and fluctuations in weight can all have an impact on your Vaser Liposuction results over time.
PROCEDURE COST
We understand that the price of a procedure is an important consideration for individuals contemplating Vaser Liposuction in Australia. Having a liposuction procedure isn’t a one-price-fits-all cost, and the total price of a procedure will vary depending on multiple factors. Pricing influences can include factors such as the number of areas being treated, the specific areas to be treated, the fat density in these areas, the amount of time in surgery, the type of anaesthetic used, and the complexity of each personalised case.
At Cosmos Aesthetics, all our Vaser Liposuction procedures start from a minimum base price of $5,500 for the first area, with additional areas starting from a minimum $2,000 fee. These prices are not a quote and are just a guide.
A detailed and personalised quote for your individual needs will be provided to you during your initial consultations with the doctors. Your quote will be calculated from a clearly itemised breakdown of costs, including IV sedation or general anaesthetic fees, hospital facility fees, aftercare follow ups, and postoperative compression garments.
